I am back with another food blog in this i am gonna cover the biggest Dosa in Delhi. Food is the only thing that can make anyone happy and in this attemp to do so i reached Sankalp Restaurant(Pitampura) to see how fascinating is the Dosa really is.

So i reached there around 12pm and ordered this Dosa and its really big.

Its a 9 feet long Dosa and it costs only ₹900 and it is served to four people only. The dish, besides being massive, also packs punches with its delightful taste. Each bite of its crispy outer texture is heavenly and the masala filling on the side further elevates its taste. It takes a four burner tawa to cook off these huge dosas.

It arrives on your plate as one perfectly-rolled piece, along with chutney and masala on the side. The dish can serve up to four people at a time. They serve it with such a perfection that anybody could fall in love with it. I recommend you all to go and experience yourself the Dosa. If you have a good appetite and want to have a get together u can definitely head up here.

Medu vada

What’s up! Foodies

So i am here again with another food blog of mine which is on ‘Medu Vada’. Its typically a South Indian dish which contains all the splash of spices and crispy chutney. The word ‘medu’ in the medu vada, literally means soft in kannada language. basically this word is attached to this dish, to describe softness yet the crispiness it has.

However it is also referred with several other names in south india like, urad dal vada, medhu vadai, ulundu vadai in tamil, garelu in telugu further it is maily served with coconut chutney peanut chutney(moongfali ki chutney), but these days it is served by dipping in sambar too.

So, let’s get started with the receipe.

Now the ingredients used in this are mentioned below:

  • 1 cup urad dal
  • 2 green chilli, finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger, finely chopped
  • few curry leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp dry coconut / kopra, chopped
  • pinch of hing / asafoetida
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • oil for deep frying

After all the ingredients let me provide you the procedure of preparing it:

  • firstly, in soak 1 cup urad dal in enough water for 3 hours. do not over soak, as the vadas will absorb oil.
  • drain off the water and grind to fine fluffy paste adding water as required. i have added 4 tbsp of water to make smooth thick paste.
  • transfer the urad dal paste into large mixing bowl. beat and mix the batter in circular motion till they turn light. this helps to incorporate air into batter and make medu vada soft and fluffy.
  • further add 1 inch ginger, few curry leaves, 2 tbsp coriander, 1 tbsp dry coconut, pinch of hing, 2 tbsp rice flour and ½ tsp salt.
  • mix the batter well with the help of spoon.
  • heat the oil in large kadai. wet your hands with enough water and take a small ball sized dough and make it round.
  • now slowly shape the edges and make a hole at the centre like you prepared in bread vada.
  • drop the vada in oil and deep fry the medu vada on medium flame.
  • fry on both sides till they turn golden brown and crisp.
  • finally, serve hot medu vada prepared in mixi with chutney or sambar of your choice.

So, above is all the important and required information regarding the dish ‘Medu Vada’. This is the only receipe which is also famous in North India.

Hopefully you all will try this

Thankyou and Namastey!
